About Dr. Sanjana Karim

Dr. Sanjana Karim is the founder and director of Peace Tree Mental Health in the San Francisco Bay Area. In her psychotherapy & psychiatry practice, she helps women facing cancer & difficult life transitions find hope, strength, and clarity.

Dr. Karim received her undergraduate degree in liberal arts at Davidson College, studying biology and Africana Studies. She earned her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Psychiatry and a resident fellowship in public policy at George Washington University. She has received specialty training in psychodynamic therapy, CBT, EMDR, trauma, and addiction-informed therapy, alongside traditionally Islamically integrated psychotherapy.

Dr. Karim is dual board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Preventive Medicine and has over 15 years of experience in her field. She is also a writer and public speaker on integrative psychological wellness and an expert in psycho-oncology.
