Each day is an opportunity to start over. You get to choose the day you want.

Yes, you have that power!  But it all depends on HOW you start your day.

What is the first thing you do when you wake up? Are you jumping on your phone scrolling social media and reading emails?

If you are then you might not be controlling your day. You are letting external forces control your energy.

The first few minutes of your day can be powerful. It sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Once you have conquered the first few minutes, you can enter into your day, and not let the day enter into you.

It matters. The difference is that you will be able to respond to challenges that pop up versus react to them. Here is why.

Responding is slower and deliberate. It allows for more processing time and is thoughtful.  For example, your boss says something that ticks you off. You breathe, walk away, process and then respond in a kind tone.

Reacting is immediate, less deliberate with less processing time, and less thoughtful. For example, your boss says something that ticks you off. You tell your boss that he is an idiot and that they should keep this job because the place sucks.  ๐Ÿ˜ฏ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Which is likely to have the better outcome? I think you know the answer.

Here are 3 ways to get your mind right for the day.

โžจWake up with the alarm. Yes, get up! You can do it.

โžจPractice gratitude, write in your journal, pray, meditate, and do a quick breathing exercise.

โžจGet that blood pumping with movement (cardio, dancing, yoga)

Incorporating these few simple steps can help you conquer your day.

Here is another pro-tip.

Don’t open that email from your boss until you finish your morning routine!

What would you add to this list? Reply and let me know. I love hearing from you.

Always wishing you the best,
