Work with Me

I hosted Easter dinner. Then rushed to the ER.

Apr 20, 2025

Because rest was never part of the plan.

For those who celebrate, Easter is a big deal.
It definitely is in my family.

The church service. The outfits.

The family showing up early.
The food that has to be just right.
You don’t just celebrate Easter—you host it.

That’s what I did one year.

I was on my feet all day.

Cooking.
Greeting guests.
Making sure the table was perfect.

And when the plates were finally cleared and dessert was on the table?

I smiled, said goodbye to everyone.

And disappeared to my room.

I had a few short hours to nap before heading into my night shift at the ER.

No one saw the exhaustion.
No one felt the tightness in my chest.

But I did.

And here’s the thing:
That wasn’t a one-time thing.

I lived like that for years.

Wearing the smile.
Hosting the holidays.
Performing like everything was fine.
Then rushing into a shift where I’d give even more of myself.

Because I thought that’s what strong women did.

I didn’t know there was another way.

A better way.
A healthier way.

Until I hit a wall.

My body started to show signs of fatigue.
I was gaining weight.
Losing energy.

Feeling grumpy even on good days.

And I realized:

This is not the life I dreamed of.

I didn’t work this hard to be tired all the time.
To be “on” for everyone but myself.

That’s when I started learning how to manage stress for real.
How to support my body.
How to stop pretending and start healing.

And today I get to be present with family.

Without stressing out about work.

And that’s why I do what I do now.

Because the women I coach?
They’re still living the story I had to rewrite.

So if you're hosting Easter today,
Trying to be present, but already stressing about Monday.
I want you to know something:

You’re not weak.
You’re just carrying too much.

You don’t have to keep doing it this way.

Let Easter be holy.
Let rest be allowed.
Let you matter too.

And if you’re ready to stop performing peace and actually feel it?

👉 https://www.urcaringdocs.com/thrive  I help high-achieving women reset their stress and reclaim their lives.

You don’t have to earn your rest.
You just have to choose it.

Happy Easter, friends.
