Is Perfectionism Ruining Your Selfcare? 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏾♀️
May 22, 2022
Can I be real for a few minutes? I am among friends, right? Let’s pledge to drop the perfectionist behavior. (This includes me)
I often admire those who meditate because I know it is an integral part of selfcare. I tried sitting cross-legged and emptying my mind, but my mind still wandered.
The type A perfectionist in me gets upset. The realist in me recognizes that I will get better with more practice. So I have to learn to give myself grace because I know meditation has many benefits. Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace, and balance to benefit your emotional well-being.
I have to remember that meditation is not about “looking perfect” to someone passing by. It is about being one with my sloppy, squirrelly mind and learning to harness it.
So today, I will start over again, and this time, I will not worry about what I look like.
(Squirrel!)
Ha! You almost got me, but not this time.
How is your mediation practice going? How have you improved?
