It would be great to say "I have arrived at my self-care destination."
But honestly, self-care is a process that equips us with the tools to deal with life’s ups and downs.
Self-care care is the pause button that helps us to reflect.
It helps us answer important questions. The two I ask are how is (insert activity) serving me, and am I well? These questions are reasonable because self-care, just like life, is dynamic.
Throughout the day, our moods and our situations change. A day might be going well, and then you get some bad news, and it goes down the toilet. That’s not your fault. The brain is wired to remember negative experiences.
How we respond during those moments can be based on how we practice self-care.
For example, one tool you can use is a pause. This video tells you how I use it.
This is an act of self-care. And gives you a chance to jump back into the next thing.
Take 5 deep breaths. The pause allows us to get rid of bad vibes and make space for something else.
The tools we develop along the self-care journey will carry us through the season.
So as we continue on this journey.
"Don't stop believing!" in the power of self-care. It is mightier than you think.
