Are You Celebrating Your Wins?🤔🎉🎉🤔

selfcare urcaringdocs wellness Jun 19, 2022

Happy Sunday!

Listen up my friends, I want you to celebrate your wins no matter how small!

Why?

Because it is human nature to want to wait for a big occasion to celebrate.

I know this.

Because I was that person.

I was always working towards a big goal.

First, it was graduating from college, applying to medical school, and then making it to the residency of choice.

Along the way, many great things happened, but I somehow lost sight of them.

The same can happen when you are working towards your selfcare goals.

You wanted to do (fill in selfcare goal) 4 times this week, but unfortunately, you only did it twice.

Instead of celebrating, we flood ourselves with negative thoughts.

We say “I will reward myself once I get to (fill in the blank).” But what about celebrating the 2 days you got it accomplished!

Our minds thrive on positivity because it is filled with so many negatives.

The next time you think your wins are too small, try these 3 simple techniques to remind you to celebrate.

  • Reward yourself. Remember you got something accomplished, celebrate it.

  • Write down your small wins consistently so you can reflect on them.

  • Find your mantra (or if you are like me, a celebratory dance, go Tamara, go Tamara)

Need a little motivation? Check out this 30-second video found here.

On this special day, we cannot forget to celebrate our fathers. So if you are a father, or father-figure, Happy Father’s Day!

Always wishing you the best,

Dr. Beckford
