Do you have your summer self-care plan?
Summer is here and stress is at an all-time high, just like the temperature. (In Houston, today it felt like 104 degrees!)
This is a great time to put together a well-thought-out selfcare plan. Remember, selfcare is a process that is ongoing. In light of all that is going on, here are a few selfcare tips to start the summer off right.
Make time for self-reflection. What are some areas of your life you want to change? List a few steps to implement those changes. Next, listen to your thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and feelings. Are they aligned with who you are? If not, it might be time to make some changes in your environment.
Change your eating habits. There are lots of summer fruits and vegetables so this is a great time to eat healthily.
Exercise. Exercise is important, and this can be in the form of any movement of your choice. Dancing the evening away at a summer festival with a great band is a fantastic way to catch up with friends, laugh, and get some movement in.
Schedule your check-up. Hey, I am a doctor, so you know I had to remind you. Now is a great time to schedule that annual checkup you keep putting off. Mine is scheduled for next week, what about yours?
