Mental Chatter๐Ÿค๐Ÿค

Jul 10, 2022

Selfcare is about quietly reducing mental chatter. The part of your mind Shirzad Chamine in his book Positive Intelligence calls the "Judge."

We all have the Judge, I know I do. "I thought you said you were going to — but you still didn't.  I guess you are not as — as you thought. "  (OMG, she can be brutal)

While your Judge is dominating your mind, you are less likely to give yourself grace when you make mistakes. You are less likely to learn from your mistakes. Most importantly, you are less likely to find peace.

The great part of recognizing your inner Judge is that you can call him/her out whenever it tries to sabotage you. Shirzard Chamine recommends labeling your Judge.

Some people call their judge the "Executioner" or "Drill Sergeant". I call mine "Miss Thang!" because she thinks she knows every darn thang! (Please read with attitude).

Luckily we have a counterpart to help us. Shirzad Chamine calls it activating your Sage. I call it aligning your Spirit.

We might use different terms but both allow you to identify what is meaningful to you and notice its place in your life. Have you been neglecting those that you care about the most due to work? If they are important to you then you will decide to nurture the relationship.

So how do you improve your Sage/align your Spirit?

You can become more aware, and enhance your senses when doing simple activities. Think of the taste of the food you're eating, is it salty, or sweet? What is the texture, is it crunchy?

When you connect with your loved one and give them a long hug, are you feeling their heartbeat? Are you immersed in their smile? Take a few more seconds and enjoy the moment.

This is selfcare.

I touched the surface of this Shirzad Chamine's powerful book and I recommend you add it to your reading list.

The concepts are amazing and will help you master selfcare and reach your full potential.

Always wishing you the best,
