She thought it was just her age.

TA had always been disciplined.
She didn’t make excuses.
She did action.
So when the weight started creeping up in her 40s, she doubled down.
Cut sugar.
Cut carbs.
Cut portions.
Then she cut more.
Protein bars instead of breakfast.
A handful of almonds for lunch.
Skipping dinner altogether.
If she wasn’t hungry, she told herself, maybe it would finally come off.
But it didn’t.
She was barely eating. (I saw her food logs)
And she was gaining weight.
At night, she’d lie awake.
Sweating.
Anxious.
Brain racing.
And in the morning?
Her joints hurts
Her face looked puffy.
And she was super moody.
She tried to push through.
The worst part?
She started believing it was her fault.
That she just wasn’t trying hard enough.
That maybe this was what getting older meant.
That this was her “new normal.”
Until one day, she sat in her doctor’s office.
And once again, heard:
“Try cutting carbs and working out more.”
She nodded politely.
But inside? She was ticked off.
She left that office with zero answers.
Just more blame.
And then she found me.
We didn’t start with calories or macros.
We started with truth.
Because this wasn’t about willpower.
It was perimenopause.
It was stress.
It was her body sounding an alarm no one else had bothered to hear.
We rebuilt her plan from the ground up.
→ One that didn’t punish her.
→ One that worked with her hormones.
→ One that made her feel human again.
And the results?
Down 25 pounds in 4.5 months.
No joint pain.
No more hot flashes.
And energy she hadn’t felt in years.
But the biggest shift?
She stopped blaming herself.
And started trusting her body again.
TA told me—
“I feel like I got some of my youth back.”
And that’s what happens when you stop starving yourself and start listening.
If you’re doing all the “right” things and still feel stuck, you’re not alone.
I’d love to hear your story—just like I heard hers.
Rooting for you,
Dr. Beckford
