The 2-Step Formula to Break Free from Burnout

Oct 06, 2024

I used to feel drained every day.

Now, I’ve broken free from burnout with just 2 steps.

Here’s how you can too.

But first the reality check.

Let’s get real—burnout is more than just feeling tired.

It’s that bone-deep exhaustion that creeps into every corner of your life, leaving you feeling trapped, overwhelmed, and wondering if things will ever change.

I’ve been there.

As an Emergency Medicine Physician and Burnout Recovery Coach, I’ve walked in your shoes, and now I’m here to show you a way out—starting with a simple, but powerful, two-step process.

Most people don’t realize that burnout recovery isn’t just about taking a break or getting more sleep.

Sure, those things help, but they’re only half the battle.

If you’re serious about beating burnout, you need to tackle both the external and internal factors—because surface-level fixes won’t solve a deep-rooted problem.

Step 1: The External Burnout Recovery Process

This is the part everyone talks about—the practical stuff.

You’ve heard it before: manage your workload, set boundaries, prioritize rest.

But it’s about more than just “self-care Sundays.”

And reading this newsletter.

You need to take real action to change the external stressors that are pushing you toward burnout.

Here’s where to start:

  • Delegate: stop trying to be a superhero. What tasks can you take off your plate?
  • Time management: Use tools and routines to reclaim control of your schedule.
  • Wellness: Yes, quality rest, movement, and good nutrition are still essential, but they aren’t the whole story.

They give you quick wins—a sense of control, better energy levels, and motivation to keep going.

But here’s the deal.

You have to do the internal work.

And that can be hard.

This is where the real, deep work begins.

And it’s the step most people try to avoid because it’s tough.

But trust me, without addressing the internal roots of burnout, the external fixes will only carry you so far.

You need to ask yourself the hard questions:

  • Is my perfectionism driving me into burnout?
  • Am I tying my self-worth to my productivity?
  • Is my perfectionism driving me into burnout?
  • Why am I accepting this overwhelming workload?
  • Why am I still here, doing this, when it’s clearly not working for me?

Peeling back these layers isn’t easy, but it’s necessary.

It’s about breaking free from that perfectionism, rewiring the harmful narratives in your head, and most importantly, healing emotionally.

This inner work takes time, but once you start addressing these root causes, you’ll experience a freedom and peace you haven’t felt in years.

If you're ready to break free but unsure where to start.

I'm here to help.

This is your chance to finally feel better, reclaim energy, and find joy again.

Let’s do this together—because you deserve more than just surviving.

You deserve to thrive.
