When the Holidays Feels Like Too Much
Dec 01, 2024
The holiday season is officially here—a time that’s supposed to be filled with joy, connection, and celebration.
But if we’re honest, does it always feel that way?
For so many of us, the holidays can bring nothing but stress.
Between work deadlines, family obligations, and the never-ending list of things to do, it’s easy to feel like you’re just trying to survive. You feel:
“How can I keep up with everything?”
“Why does everyone expect so much from me?”
“When do I get a moment for me?”
You’re not alone. I see you. I hear you.
And I understand your pain.
Because I’ve been there.
But here’s what I want you to know.
It doesn’t have to stay this way.
Imagine waking up on a crisp December morning, feeling calm and in control.
Your mind is quiet, not racing to do the next thing.
You're not exhausted but have the energy to enjoy the little things—a cup of coffee, the sparkle of holiday lights, and laugh with friends.
You’re fully present with the people who matter most.
You set boundaries that let you give from a place of abundance, not exhaustion.
And for the first time in a long time, you’re making memories that fill your heart with joy—not just another checklist of things you “have to” do.
Doesn’t that sound like the kind of holiday season you’ve been longing for?
Here’s the good news.
You don’t need a total life overhaul to start feeling this way.
It begins with small, intentional steps that prioritize YOU.
This week, I want to help you find your happy place, even in the midst of the holiday chaos.
Here’s how:
- Quiet the Noise.
- Take five minutes today to sit in silence.
- No phones, no to-do lists—just breathe.
- Let your mind rest and give yourself permission to exist without “doing.”
- Set Loving Boundaries.
- Saying “no” doesn’t mean you’re letting others down.
- It means you’re protecting your energy so you can truly show up for the things that matter most.
- Reclaim What Matters.
- Reflect on what brings you joy during the holidays.
- Is it decorating cookies with your kids? Watching a classic movie?
- Make time for at least one of these things this week—it’s non-negotiable.
- Know You’re Already Enough.
- You don’t have to do it all to be worthy of love and happiness.
- The people who matter most don’t want a perfect version of you—they want the real you.
This holiday season, let’s choose joy over perfection.
Let’s create space for peace, even when life feels chaotic.
And let’s remember that taking care of ourselves isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.
If you’re ready to start this journey toward a brighter, more peaceful season, I’m here to help.
