Work with Me

Why you gain weight (even with a good diet)

Feb 02, 2025

A patient snuck out to take her appointment.

She whispered so nobody could hear us.

She had a booked a consultation with me.

After years of trying to figure it out.

At first, I thought it was about weight management.

But as soon as she started talking,

I knew it was deeper.

“I don’t get it,” she said.

“I haven’t changed anything, but I keep gaining weight.”

Her voice was heavy.

I could tell she felt frustrated.

So, I asked her: What changed?

That’s when it all spilled out.

She’d been handling everything.

Work, home, and family.

Her stress had shot through the roof.

And she had been promoted.

Not sleeping well.

And then we realized something most women never talk about.

It was the hormones.

Perimenopause changes everything

It hits like a freight train.

Right in the middle of life’s busiest years.

Suddenly…

The weight won’t budge—even though your habits haven’t changed.

Your moods swing between ‘I’m fine’ and ‘Why am I crying?

It becomes harder to sleep.

Your body doesn’t respond the way it used to—no matter what you try.

It’s not just stress. Not just aging.

Although you’d like to believe that.

It’s hormones shifting—silently, gradually, but powerfully.

Throwing off metabolism, hunger cues, energy, and mental clarity.

And yet, women are told to:

🔹 Push through it.

🔹 Eat less, move more.

🔹 Just accept it—it’s part of getting older.

Nonsense.

I’m not okay with that.

Because here’s what I know.

You don’t have to just “deal with it.”

So we talked about solutions.

For her, that meant:

✔️ Managing stress—because high cortisol wrecks metabolism.

✔️ GLP-1s to regulate hunger, blood sugar, and fat storage.

And let me tell you—when you combine the two?

Magic happens.

I’ve seen it.

Women finally losing weight—without starving themselves.

Feeling in control again—after years of feeling stuck.

Energy coming back—without relying on caffeine.

It’s glorious.

But the media tells you to “ “just accept yourself!”

But those people?

They don’t wake up in YOUR body.

They don’t know what it’s like to feel exhausted, drained, and stuck.

Like you’re losing yourself, little by little.

This isn’t about shame.

It’s about taking back control.

And if this sounds like you, here’s what I need you to know:

You’re not failing—your body is asking for help.

You don’t have to accept this as your new normal.
When you’re ready, I’m here.

Let’s get you feeling like you again—lighter, stronger, and finally free.
