Prioritizing oneself can be so hard. Why? Because of the stigma attached.

 

You might be called selfish.

 

You might be called self-centered.

 

You might even feel guilty.

 

Selfish… all the negative words or phrases that are connected with that action.

 

In reality, prioritizing oneself is one of the most selfless acts one can perform. 

 

You have determined what you can handle and how much you can give to others.

 

That is not selfish. 

 

Imagine your cup is so full that you have the energy to help others.

 

Imagine being able to generate ideas that can help you grow.

 

Imagine having the energy to play with your kids at the end of the day.

 

Imagine the peace that comes with knowing you have given your best, not just to yourself but also to others.

 

That, my friend, is the power of selfcare.

 

That is the power of choosing you first.

 

So, no, you are not selfish.

 

And, no, you are not uncaring.

 

You are prioritizing yourself, and that, my friend, is good care.

 

That is selfcare.
